The Burj Khalifa light show that dazzled spectators on New Year’s Eve will be run nightly until March, organisers have said.
It was accompanied by the return of the dazzling fireworks display, which was absent last year.
The developer Emaar said the the illumination of the façade of Burj Khalifa also earned it two additional Guinness World Records – for the ‘Largest LED-illuminated facade’ and the ‘Tallest LED-illuminated facade’.
On Tuesday morning, the task of cleaning up the Downtown area was underway after hundreds of thousands of revellers partied overnight.
Cleaners swept the streets early and boats collected debris from the downtown lake after the fireworks performance and party.
