Expo 2020 launches huge Dragons’ Den-style challenge

Business 2017/11/08 at 10:00 PM

Have you ever had an idea that made you think “this could change the world”? Well, now’s your chance to make it a reality.

Whether you’re a parent, student, businessperson or employee, Expo 2020 wants to hear your solutions to some of the UAE’s most pressing challenges.

If you’ve got an idea, you could win up to Dhs25,000 to help make your vision a reality as part of the Innovation Challenge Programme from Expo Live.

The Expo Live programme has US$100 million (Dhs367 million) allocated to it to “back projects that offer creative solutions to pressing challenges that impact people’s lives, or help preserve the world – or both”. The programme is intended to identify and assist innovative projects from UAE nationals and residents, that otherwise wouldn’t have had the financial or infrastructural backing to reach their full potential.

The Innovation Challenge Programme complements two existing programmes from Expo Live – the Innovation Grant Programme that funds solutions from around the world tailored towards start-up companies (and has already dished out grants to 45 recipients), as well as the University Innovation Programme, which targets innovation and ideas from the country’s students.

The most creative, unique and impactful ideas submitted to the Innovation Challenge Programme will be shortlisted, with candidates invited to potentially pitch their idea to a panel of judges – think Dragons’ Den-style pitches and investment.

Have you got what it takes?

Head to www.expo2020dubai.ae/expo-live/challenge and prove your idea needs to be heard. If you’re good enough, you may even win the chance to showcase your work to millions of visitors at Expo 2020 Dubai itself.

So what are you waiting for?
