The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that Sunday November 18 will be a holiday for private sector workers.

The announcement was made by Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and the holiday marks Mawlid Al Nabi – the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday.

This will mean a three-day weekend with work resuming on Monday November 19, state news agency WAM reported.

Earlier, it was announced that ministry and federal authority staff in the UAE will be given a holiday on Sunday.

The occasion had been expected to fall on Tuesday, November 20.

It is one of a series of important dates in the country.
